I am a learning and development consultant and my specialty is guiding and helping people by coaching them to set and achieve their goals. I do this by focusing on my coachee and being in the moment. I have been successful because I am a great listener, curious and a continuous learner. With 26 years of experience in the financial and banking industry and two masters degrees, I am here to serve you!
For many years, I have been a coach and confidant to many people in my career and in my life. My coaching story began early in my career at a large financial firm in Boston in 1998. At this time, I had a mentor who was a great coach and encouraged me and inspired me on the path to coaching.
After the events of September 11th, 2001, I looked at my life and reevaluated where I was headed with my career. I felt isolated in snowy New Hampshire where I had relocated with the company and I decided to attend Babson College full time and finish my MBA. While at Babson I received training and certification to coach students which I found very fulfilling. I also took this time to study abroad in Paris, France with the ESCP-EAP in 2003 where I really learned to value international conversations and the importance of diversity and inclusion in the world.
Upon completing my graduate and international education in 2004, I came back to the professional world and started working at a large bank in Boston. We coached team members on 360 feedback through a leadership program. The 360 results, which I had also used in previous positions, is confidential feedback from yourself, your peers, direct reports, manager etc. which is useful for someone both professionally and personally to create a development plan. The 360 results, coupled with MBTI, a personality inventory, are tools I continue to utilize when coaching clients. I participated in a MBTI personality inventory myself which revealed that I am ESFJ (Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling and Structured). This confirmed that I am in the right career, coaching people!
The bank I was working for was acquired and the new organization really valued and utilized the StrengthsFinder Assessment. I bought the book right away and added this technique to my coaching tool kit. I loved it! It was all about focusing on your talent themes and bringing your strengths to the table. Utilizing the StrengthsFinder Assessment, we were able to coach many employees and clients both in person and over the phone which added flexibility to my coaching abilities. One of my talent themes which I discovered from taking the StrengthsFinder myself, is Woo. People exceptionally talented in the Woo theme love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over which is all about networking and building relationships easily. They derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection with someone. Once again, it was confirmed I had the perfect personality to coach!
In 2019, I had a desire to further my training as a coach and enrolled in the ACT Leadership and Performance Coaching Certification program at Brown University. This program was amazing and provided in-depth training and instruction in the art of coaching. With this program, I learned the importance of being creative with clients to help them with their life journey.
